Best sound 4 the Money?

Hey guys I have a 05 fx4 scab I got a single inlet dual outlet 40 series flowmaster. Its Ok sometimes it sounds ok sometimes its just to quiet. I live in NC and the emissions laws are insane. what would be the best set up for my truck exhaust? I want it to sound like the end of the world when I mash the gas. I was thinking of loud mouths but not sure I dont want the exhaust coming out the side

The Loudmouths would work, so would Dynomax Bullets if you want to retain the deeper sound.

Could try asking your shops if you could swap to hi-flow cats.

Replace the rear cats with straight pipes.

dynomax bullet or SLP loudmouth 1
upgrade your piping from the Y back to 3", to gain the most sound out of it.
and look into high flow cats

Take a sawzall and cut your exhaust pipe off behind the cats. Though I reckon you might have trouble with the law round there. Move to South Carolina.

I also live in NC and feel your pain. Some here won't pass my truck because it has a side exit in front of the tire. They say it has to be behind the tires. Oh well, if you know someone who will pass it I would say go with a side exit in front of the tires and keep your muffler that you have now. It will be very loud but so will the drone. That is why I'm looking to move mine to the rear 45ed plus to ease the worry about passing if I finally run out of places that will still pass me. NC is getting tougher all the time on emissions.

Hey...don't knock it until you've tried it. Did my 2002 5.4 Expedition last week like that with the intent of getting a cat back system. But sounds so good I don't see the need. It's really not loud at all (considering it has no muffler) and the drone isn't bad either. THe cats provide ample sound reduction.

its personal preference. I knock it because i PERSONALLY think it sounds like trash. no tone, just noise. thats why i recommend a dynomax bullet. same volume, deep and aggressive tone.
