Makeshift ram air?
Makeshift ram air?
Its getting pretty chilly here the past few days. Its around 65-68 degrees here (ambient) around 10:00. When I'm driving my IAT is showing 85*F going around 60 mph and 105* at those pesky red lights. So from the air entering the front of my truck, to the air intake and to the IAT its warming up ~20*. Not something I like. I was thinking of making some sort of duct to run from the front grille (hide behind the billet) to the stock 3" opening so the cold air is blasted onto my K&N. I figured this would also help when its ballsy hot out too. Ideas?
check this site out...you can prolly fab something up with their ducting and such. you have to drill into the drop down menu on the catalog but they got plenty of things you can get to build you a trick ram air setup, i run a modded intake from them with their filter, I had my truck recently dyno'd using the stock intake from the supercharger kit (k&n in it) and my spectre modded intake and got 17 extra horses to the rear wheels just from swapping intakes, the run was kind of lean but thats corrected now, I got the dyno sheet in my album, it was the second run with the spectre, first run was the stocker. The parts are available at summit, maybe jegs as well.

Thanks. I went to PepBoys and picked up a 3" flexible hose and ran it from the OEM 3" hole and down to the left front tire area. Not quite ram-air but still colder air than the engine bay. All I need now is the hood!
