Jlt cai

just wondering if anyone around here has used the jlt true cold air intake on their trucks.

http://jlttruecoldair.com/zencart/in...products_id=94

i ran both a k&n and a jlt on my mustang and would have to say i strongly preferred the jlt. just wondering if i can expect the same performance gains from my truck

i should also mention that this is a ram air style not the 90 degree elbow behind the headlight design.

i have it and it is not a cold air intake...ita a ram air intake the filter is right above the engine most say that it is a bad design but it flows tons of air and will lean out your truck so matched with a custom tune for the jlt intake you will see quite a bit of an increase

i figured there would be an increase, i'm just wondering if it's enough to put it over any other brand, or cold air intakes. price really isnt a problem i just want whats gonna work best, and liek i said i've run jlt before and loved the power gain and quality. how much of a gain did you get, was it noticeable?

thanks for the reply

Get a fully enclosed kit. S&B or Volant.

or make your own out of a $75 ebay kit with 4in tubing and paint it to match the truck.

It looks like you need a plug?... Or you don't have something hooked up right.

I have the jlt with an edge php tunes since april this year and no problems nor codes and a very noticable power gain. It doesn't make as much noise as the the long tube cai's but when I step on it it reminds me that its there. The IAT is most likely higher than an enclose type but if used with a hood scoop it will be ram ambient oat. I am happy with the jlt and can't wait until I get a cervini hood on.

thanks again for all of your help. the comments were very helpful. and yeah a twin nostril hood is in the works. just wanna do some power upgrades before the appearance upgrades. within the next few months i'm planning on tuning it, cai, maganflow duals, ud pulleys and some other misc. little goodies

the paint came from a can and is a 90% match to the truck.

i took this before it was all hooked up, still working out some kinks. but the air intake temps went from 110 sitting to 68 sitting, however its not as responsive under 2000rpms but once you get it above 2200rpms it takes off, and its a 4.6L.
