Exhaust headers...vs window tint...

I live in Las Vegas and I've had my truck for almost 2 years. I must say it is high time I get window tint. But I have $600 free to blow away on whatever I want, and hanging out with a friend today has gotten me into considering headers. Just out of curiosity, what is a good brand name? I've heard Gibson and Banks are the best. Which type is better, short or long tube? What kind of horsepower and torque gains can be expected? And is the power gain/exhaust note change worth $600 over $200 for limo tint? LOL

what year truck and what motor,
shorty headers dont give you ANY gains, long tubes will
shorty headers will fit right in without having to extend the 02 sensor wires and pipe

really i wouldnt blow 600 dollars JUST because i had it, tint is a wonderful thing, get it, save the rest of your money

x2 on tint. I recently upgraded my exhaust system and held off on the headers. Wasn't worth that much cash to me at the time.

Plus I don't think I could ever drive another vehicle without tint.

Get the tint, better looking truck afterwards, and if you have a custom exhaust already them you truck isn't quiet.

Get the tint... headers are worthless if your not looking to make big power or already have a power adder.. Or unless some hack-job of a muffler shop cut off your mid pipe flange, so you now have to buy an entire header back exhaust system... but then your going waaayyy over your $600 budget.

2007 5.4L XLT. I figured this month I had a lot extra to just kill off on whatever I wanted after all the bills and people tell me headers are the way to go in exhaust mods. Right now I just have a Flowmaster 40 Dyna 3" SI/DO and it's already obnoxiously loud, lol. Yeah I think I'll have to go with the tint, it was my first mod on my first truck. But do you guys know how much power gain you're supposed to get with short and long tube headers? So many ads say that shortys are "dyno proven to give you extra power", and I really almost got sucked into it before getting second opinions from you guys.

best headers are dynatech. 3/8" flanges, stainless steel jet coated. they are the most expensive at around $800, however there are a million other companies out their with good quality headers. Lots of guys on here run Pacesetters, their cheaper in price, decent quality. there is OBX, kooks, and of course the famous Doug Thorley headers, which ill be getting soon. shortys are wack, there not much longer than the stock cast iron manifolds, if even at all. Longtubes are the only way to go. give you about 25 HP, but a PITA to install.

shortys vs stock

again, shorty headers will give you NO GAIN and long tubes will, as stated above, give you about 25hp/25tq

Well I guess if I'm going headers I'll end up with long tubes. For the meantime, like you guys said and I should have agreed with my girlfriend in the first place, tint it is!

Having no tint on these giant front doors is horrible, no way would I go without any tint. You'll be happy you did it afterwards, will make your truck look even sleeker than it is.
