Banks Exhaust???

when i first got my truck the first thing i wanted to do was exhaust so i kinda rushed things and didnt make a very good dicision. i whent with a flowtech afterburner muffler and it sounds ok but over time it gopt softer almost to the point to were you can olny really hear it when i rev it or or really get on it. so im getting new exhaust soon (that muffler didnt last verry long) and im need ing suggestions. i found a banks exhaust kit for $550 but ive never herd it so i was wondering if anyone here has one and if so what does it sound like.

Thanks

A guy that lives around me has one on his 07 reg cab with the 8ft bed. It sounds awesome. One of the best I ever heard in person. The exhaust sounds very very deep and when he gets on it it roars. The only reason I chose the roush kit instead was the fact that the banks is 409 stainless and it looked like crap after one ny winter on his truck. The roush is 304 stainless so I hoping for alittle better look retention.

I'm curious were did you find the good deal on the kit?

t-409 may surface rust, but it wont rust through. It just surface rusts. Its a big step up from aluminized.

Yea I know that. I'm speaking purely on the looks of the kits. The magnaflow kit I had and the guy I spoke of banks kit both looked like crap after one winter. We both wash our trucks weekly in the winter and I at least spray the under carriage I'm not saying they are falling apart, they just look like they are alot older then they are. I like things to look good when I put that much money into something so that is a big reason I am ok waiting for my roush kit is its 304 and I'd like to see what happens there.

The stocker I have looks great, no surface rust at all and I took from the woods after two years and it had two winters on it before that. So to me I'd like to opt for the 304 and see if the looks last like the stocker. That is if I ever get it from roush, lol!!

Darren, just curious, what do your pipes with your setup look like after the PA winters??

Ok I see better now. You feel about exhaust how I feel about frames and rear ends, want them to look fresh from the dealer. I could care less about how my exhaust looks.

I have t-409 pipes, heres my mid spring detail cleaning. The rest of the exhaust looks the same. I'm fine with it.

Like i said mine has been on my truck for 4 years doesn't look to bad but I'm going to pull mine back out and sand the surface rust off and get some high heat paint and paint it black so all the pip is black but leave the muffler and 5" tip stainless

Haha so maybe I'm not the only one for cleaning and painting my frame and rear-end every year!!
Your pipes look excellent compared to what my magnaflow cat-back pipes looked like. It had so much surface rust it took 4 hours to get the pipes apart. I mean I'm not talking minor rust color or anything, I'm talking serious rust, flaking off in pieces and all. I mean honestly you would have thought it was alumnized by looking at it. Yes after some serious work it was good enough for high temp paint, but without it.. man it sucked.
I should have taken a close up pic of it. The banks kit looks similar but not as bad.

Precisely. Protect your investment, very smart move. Go to the care & detailing section and your not the only one that also polishes their license plates
