45ed Dual rear exit vs. Dual straight exit vs. Dual side exit-Which has more tone?

All set ups with 4 original cats and with a Bullet muffler
I currently have dual outlet out the side in front of the rear tire off a single inlet one chamber Extreme. I am soon gonna change to the Bullet. Would 45ed out the back or dual straight out the back have more tone or shorter pipe exit on the side have more like I already have? I am hopefully gonna get this right this time and be done switching exhaust tips and mufflers around for good. I love a loud idle, hate drone(which I have a little now) so I want everybody else outside to hear it more than I do inside. So, I am being 100% sure this time to what to expect the first time I leave the shop and not wondering if I will be smiling, cussing, holding my ears from the drone, or crying from my money being wasted once again.
The Green Machine's exhaust needs are harder to keep satisfied than a high maintenance woman.

90'd behind the rear wheels, so you get a balance on both sides

Thanks tar, does more pipe for the sound to go through make it less raspy as well or more?

45'd rear exit will sound best, the sound is at both rear corners filling all surrounding areas.

The different locations are all going to have the same tone/sound. A different exit (135'd vs. straight out the back) will have no effect on that.

However, straight out the back will be the most quiet in the cab (unless you tow something, it'll bounce off the trailer, boat, ect.).

90'd behind the tires will throw the sound out more from the truck as the tips are facing completely different directions, completely opposite sides of the truck. You'll hear it the most in the cab the most aswell.

135'd behind the tires (NOT 45'd, 45'd would have the tips exiting back towards the front of the truck) will be a nice compromise between the two. It also looks the best, IMO.

Thanks Darren and Mud. I am leaning toward 45ed just because where I live here in NC about 90% of the people have straight slashbacks out the rear. Way too overdone for me. I like to be different that is why I went with dual out the side in front of the tire. The problem is I want to be in stereo not mono out one side. I want both sides to be heard.
Does 45ed have much drone?

It all depends on the system man... Drone.. not rly just more of bouncing sounds off of thing you pass... builinding, fences ect. Drone can be reduced with putting the muffler as close to the rear dif as possible. I have some drone with my 14" si/do maggie. I like it tho.

If you were to make it come out before the rear wheels you will hear it more and get more drone because it will resonate under the cab and you will here it inside the cab. I had my exhaust cut off under the cab right before the muff. and it was loud in the cab. Then I had true dual straights ran out of the back going straight no angle, and I heard hardly any sound in the cab unlike before, but then I had a 45 put in both sides and like said previoulsy you could only hear it when you were passing cars on the road or driving by buildings.

Just get what ever looks better to you. There is basically no difference between 45'ed and straight out. The side exit will only send the noise to one side and create more interior drone.
