Exhaust exit options

I want to quite down on cab noise in my truck a bit and I figure running the exhaust out somewhere instead of having it dumped would be the best idea.
My 2 options for what i want to do is push the muffler forward and putting a Y after it and doing an L style exit with 2 nice tips ( or just a single into dual tip would be cheaper)

or running it out the stock location with a diesel style tip single 4.5" or 5" tip. I only have 2.5" piping and i dont want it to look like i just stuck a huge tip on the end though.

i was thinking of a basani L style exhaust but there is no way im paying that for a catback then getting it raised up to match the BL on my truck anyways

You said you wanted to quiet it done... then do not run it before the tires. Either 45 it behind the rear tires or run it straight out the back.

i had my banks exhaust dumped at the muffler didnt like it so i took the pipe that came with it that came out in the stock location as factory but cut it where it comes over the axle and put the 5" tip back on sounds killer compared to dumped at the muffler

I had the same concerns about noise.....
so I did the same thing I did on my HARLEY (motorcycle).......
I installed duel pipes out the rear with great results!

How is the noise inside the truck when you are cruising? I am think of doing the same with my magnaflow system that exits in the stock location. My wife backed into the tongue of the boat trailer and mangled the tip.

i love the sound not loud not to soft just right at first i had the banks exhaust exit out in stock location loved it there but my truck was to low i would drag the 5" tip then cut it off and turned it down out of the muffler and didnt like it so i welded the the pipe back on and done it like it is now

The best way to eliminate noise is to do a custom exhaust with the muffler as far back as possible. Always make sure to exit out the rear or behind the wheels.

If you want the quietest in-cab experience, exit out of the right side where the stock exhaust was as it's farthest from the driver's side door. You can also do a single/dual rear exit out the passenger side tailgate area.
