I know this probley no a great idea but has anyone thought about porting and polishing a plastic PI intake? I think if you did it right "slow spped on the dremel",hand sanding, it might work if the plastic doesnt crack or any other funny suff. What about geting the older aluminum intake. will this match my 2001 5.4L heads?? Im sure this would be a good candidate for P&P but will it fit and is there any room for big growth over the plastic PI intake?? The MSI intake is $700 kindof high price but not out of the question, the thing i dont like is having to make an adapter plate

You can't really port or polish plastic effectively. If you use to much speed, the plastic will melt, and you can't use the 2 valve 5.4 intake manifold because they physically won't fit and aren't designed for the 3 valve 5.4's.

 

Thanks for the info dude but I have an 01 expo with the 5.4L SOHC will the aluminum intake from a 99 or what ever fit my PI heads? Thanks for your help
