I am looking to get a CAI but not sure what is the better one. I am looking at Volant and S&B because they are boxed inclosures. I was also wanting to know if it would be best to get a chip too? Would I benifit more with a chip if i get a CAI and what would be a good chip? I don't want to go over board with a chip, just want to improve performance some. I have a 2006 F-150 King Ranch SuperCrew with 5.4 with a Borla exhaust.

 

Did you ever move forward with your project. I am looking at the same thing and I also have a 2006 Screw KR

 

You will not get a lot of benefit from a CAI unless you have custom tunes. The tables for fuel/air ratio must be modified to take advatage of the increased air available. If you only do one, the custom tunes do far more for you than the CAI.

Sorry have not moved forward yet. When I do it might be the chip first. I am saving up to have the bed line-x in a color along with the KR logo.
