want exhaust to be louder

Right now i have a cat back striaght piped exhaust system on my 05 f150 with the 5.4 and i want to know a cheap way to make my exhaust louder. i thought about cutting 2 out of the 4 cats off but i didnt know if i would have any problems with back pressure if i did that. any suggestions would be great. i love the sound though i have 2.25 inch piping.

thanks

Where does it exit at right now? if you want it louder dump it underneath the bed before the axle. thats as loud as you can get it in the cab.

If that is where its at now or its still not loud enough for you take out all four stock cats and get two high flow magnaflow cats and run 2.25 pipe into a X pipe or H and run it wherever you want.

If that still isnt loud enough get somoe hearing aids!

X2

Hi-flow cats will make it extremely loud, and an H/X-pipe will give you that much needed low end torque back.

If you do have the 4 cat system ( early model 2005s had 4, later built model 2005s had only 2 ) cut the rears out. Our pre-cats flow just like hi-flows, and are the only cats monitored in the 04 - 05 4 cay system, very affordable modification, but illegal.
