My OBX header install.

well here are some sound clips. They don't really sound very good on a computer but what they hey.
the first two are headers with resonators to they Y. Basically the kit OBX sends.
headers with resonators1
headers with resonators 2
on the last 2 I just slid one of the super 44's over the Y pipe.
above with one super 44 1

yea. I'm going to the muffler shop this week. They will weld it all in for me.
It kinda sounds like crap now but that's pretty much what I expect.
I just jerry rigged everything behind the headers on for now since it all will be redone in a few days.
I'll post up some vids after it's finished. I think I'll video the dyno.

My truck's at the muffler shop. My muffler guy isn't to excited about cutting up the Stainless Steel Y pipe that OBX sent.
He said, "Your gonna make me cut up this perfectly good SS Y?"
He also said that and H pipe is unnecessary but I said put it in anyway.
Flowmaster's installation instructions even say they recommend an H or an X pipe to make it sound better.
I can also tell that he doesn't want to jack with the Cats but I said I wanted them.
I guess I'll see how it sounds soon!
PS - I about got a headache driving it to the shop this morning! Even with the resonators on.

I think it's kind of a toss up.
From what I've read X pipes perform as intended when both sides of the exhaust have = pressure. So that would mean that both sides would be the same length with the same bends. We can't run the pipes that way on our trucks.
Flowmaster's install instructions say either an H or X should be used but for 95% of applications, an X won't outperform and H.
However an H is supposed to should a little better than an X.
Who knows.

Well next time I'll probably go to a new muffler shop.
I was first worried when he said a H pipe was unnecessary.
Now he just called and said the truck was done. Then he asked what the sensor in the passengers seat was for. I said that's my LC-1 wide band. I said don't worry about that I'll put it in.
He said where you going to put it in? All the bungs are filled with O2 sensors.
The last think I told him this morning was "DON'T FORGET THE EXTRA BUNGS INFRONT OF THE CATS!"
Well he did so now he's trying to put them in. He first said there was no room for them then he said he will look at it and find a place.
I think if I put it in 4LO.......I can drive completely thru his shop taking out the South and North walls.

On a side note. He called back and said he was able to get the bungs installed. I'll be picking it up around 5 or so.
I'll take some picks. And maybe get a sound clip too.
