LUCKY! 45 min a side! that body lift would really help when i got to lookin at it, shouldnt have to do much to get em on ther either! your buddy get the stud out? and for the dipstick, i would try sprayin with a little bit of penetrating stuff to lube the o ring on it, and vigorusly twist and pull. worked for me!

Didn't work on it too much last night but I did get the drivers side header bolted in, which means I was able to get the dip sick tube out.

My buddy also got the bolt out. He had a better pair of vice grips and then we put the heat to the block.

Hopefully tonight I can work on it and get the drivers side done. I only need to put back in the dip stick tube, reinstall the egr tube, and put on the locking hardware on the stage 8 locking bolts I used.

Then I will begin installing the passengers side.

I think the welds look really good.

I'll take some more pics tonight. Looked for the camera last night but I couldn't find it.

I just put a set in on my 2000 5.4L and was very impressed with the ease of the install. My buddy who was helping freaked when i told him they were only $475, he said don't let OBX get wind that they should cost a lot more. Going into the shop tomorrow to get the Maggie 94106 cats and spintech super pro street mufflers put on!

Well I cross threaded the 7th bolt I was putting in on the passenger side header last night so I had to take the whole think back out again.

I'm headed to the store to get a correct tap today.

It's not too bad. I stopped after about 2 threads in.

I did get the drivers side completed and I've got some pics I'll post up in a couple of hours.

Did you get Stage 8 locking header bolts yet? I would highly recommend them if not......looks like Gotts has them as well.

My only issue I had with the OBX long tubes was trying to fit them to the passenger side exhaust ports.....when you push them through from underneath they tend to hit the starter and shock mount.

nuts! I mean bolts...

Unforseen oops'es like these are the general reason why i use this formula to calculate install time:

1.5*X+0.1^(-0.Y)+X*A = Install Time

X = # of recomended hours
Y = 0.75*X where Y is number of beers consumed
if You do not own very many tools A = 0.2, otherwise A= 0

Good Luck the rest of the way! You're still on track to finish quicker than I did...

Yea I had a buddy come over and he was talking deer hunting the whole time I was trying to put the bolts in! That with the beers and it being about midnight probabaly didn't help the situation!

I was smart enough to back off and take the whole thing out though instead of just trying to twist the thing in crooked.

I cross threaded the number 3 cylinder top bolt but I got it in further than two threads. I, just as a temp fix for now stacked a bunch of washers together and tightened it down, gonna fix it once it cools down a bit...
