Question Dryflow Filter swap?

Hey everyone.. I have a 3.0" AF1 cold air intake.. and I'm curious about the possibility of swapping out the HUGE AF1 filter for something along the lines of a AEM Dryflow filter of a similar size. I'm curious about the performance of these dryflow filters, I imagine they would be pretty fairly similar to their oiled counterparts, yet require much less maintenance. My main question is, will I be safe to swap one of these AEM Dryflow filters for the AF1 filter, or should I stick to oiled?

btw... is AEM the only one who makes dryflow filters, or are there others? If so.. who makes the best one?

filter changing on your setup will do nothing performance wise. If you can find a filter that fits your tube, it won't hurt at all. If you are in a super dusty area then a filter with a film of oil will be better to have then a dry one. However, most people tend to over oil their filters anyway. I say go for it.

I'm not sure if AEM is the only maker of dry filters, but imo, you'll be ok with your K&N, just clean it more often.

the aem wont flow quite as well as the af1 but it is not something you would ever notice. as far as filtering goes its very simple the better it flows the worse it filters and as far as oiled vs dry goes the dry filters better. the only other dry filter that i know of that may make a replacement for your is the volant powercore. i say go for aem.
