5.4 intake elbow P&P or aftermarket??

I have two questions is there an aftermarket intake elbow for the 5.4 SOHC PI engine or do I have to hope grinding with a dremel and polishing will help a little. If someone has one they want to sell ill be all over it

#2 theres no aftermarket intake for my truck so can I use the aftermarket intakes they make for the 2v 4.6 mustangs and get a spacer to fit the wider runners? is it even worth the hassel??

Ok a little update on the manifold and addapters theres a company called professional products that makes the 4.6 upgraded manifold all sells the adapter plates too to go 4.6 to 5.4 2v the manifold is $530 and the real bad part the dame addapters are $200 =( what a rip for some spacers. I will be taking pics this weekend on the elbow port and polish and post them right here. Im not thinking too much will happen as far as HP goes but i hope with my 75mm TB and a real good time consumming P&P I will see a little more CFM =) man think of the gains with twisted wedge heads and the PP intake a portandpolish elbow 75mm TB and a 928motorsports V-1 with 12lbs of boost http://www.rpmoutlet.com/musv8dynotune.htm

[IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG][/IMG]Heres the pics and i did notice a bit of a pick up in the 1500 to 3000 rpm range even with a leakey header gasket. the new elbow i got from phil i panited it in cat yellow as i also panited my v-1 in cat yellow I cant wait to get here back from carl. I had to drill the main vacum tree to 3/8 thur the center. philes was for a truck if you look at the pics youll see what im talking about. hours and hours of dremeling and hand sanding
sanding down to 600 grit. opened up to a perfect 75mm at the mouth

there is a 2 valve 5.4 intake manifold it's made by HPS but you'd need an adapter plate to run the truck TB and elbow

I'm in the middle of sticking one of these on a 4.6 with a single turbo

this is off of my 5.4

That intake looks cool. Now do you have to run that lighting elbow or can i match the stock truck elbow to it with out the adapter plate. It sounds like a lot of other adapting IE: the Ideal air bypass valve, throttle cables, egr pipe fromt he drver side header and so on but if the gains are worth it. My tuner told me he would make me a upper out of a polished aluminum box and the mate it to a stock lighting lower plunum all for $200 assuming i have the lighting lower plunum? A 4.6 with a turbo sounds really cool dude i would like to see a video when your done PS are you selling the intake in the pic???

A little update after replacing the passnger side header gasket the truck feels a little slower and thanks Black02EB I know why. My back psi is high do to my pre cats being hollowed out and not removed with weled in straght pipe a big thanks for finding the issue Black02EB. So i would have to say it does help tp P&P and match to a 75mm TB but only if you can move the psi correctley and with that leakey headers gasket it had better low and mid range. I know its hard to beleave but i drive the truck every day and i can tell when theres a change. So now i will have a buddy weld in straight pipe for the pre cats and do away with thoses bad air bubbles

I've got 2 plates in the works right now, it's just an adapter that allows the stock Lightning upper plenium to bolt onto a "regular" truck intake

the one in the pictures was done by lowflyingbird but will not clear my procharger setup so I am exploring other options as I am getting ready for a F1R and a motor that rev's up to at least 6,000rpms, the turbo 4.6 is in a huge lifted F-150

as far as ported and polished stock TB elbows talk to Gotts2BMe, he does a real good job on them
