Aluminized vs. SS exhaust and Mufflers

I just bought one of the low dollar Edelbrock/Saleen - catback single in dual out the rear alumized systems for my 06 4.6 4x4 - haven't put it on yet - am I wasting my time using aluminized - I am seeing a lot of water leaking out of the stock muffler - I assume these things produce a ton of moisture - I'll drill a few small holes for drains with the new system - I am guessing these trucks must eat up exhaust systems with that much moisture - any input is appreciated for the newbie here.

No, don't drill any holes in your pipes or muffler. The aluminized pipes are going to rust out since you live in the north west, even stainless steel pipes would rust out after a few years up there.

Yeah like Punisher said. Here is some more advice.

In any conditions, mufflers and exhaust pipes will rust. They rust mostly from the inside out because of all the gases and liquids that flow through. The best way to prevent that is to make sure the truck doesn't start go down the street and then get shut off. If not avoidable take a fast run on the highway to clear out the pipes from stuff sitting in there. Also, to prolong the life of the pipes against salt and such, I would say Hi heat paint or maybe BBQ grill paint and paint the pipes and muffler to make sure nothing can get at them from the outside. I will be doing mine in a few weeks.
