header for motor conversion

i have a 97 4.6l scab 4x4 longbed that i am changing over to an 03 hd sc motor, question is which long tube header would work on this do i purchase one for a 97 or will a 99-04 work? kinda edging towards the obx but always open for ideas

Buy '01 - '03 Harley LT headers. Dynatech offers the best.

ok i will check into those. i was just not sure if the harley headers would clear the diff and axle on the front being 4x4.

yes it is quite a project! still working on it i will be posting some info for the conversion later when i get it all worked out.

built5.4 has a '98 he did a lightning eaton conversion on, use the dynatech's or the OBX and then have your mid pipes made so they will clear

nice thats what i was curious about. just get the hd or lightning headers then get the mid made.

teh LIghtning / Harley OBX headers are copies of the dynatechs

i did that conversion with a 2003 hd engine and the 1997 guage cluster does not tie in to the engine... i have a 1997 2wd f150 and i had to buy a 1999 guage cluster with the wiring harnis and after that had to switch tons of wires in plugs to match things up... you lose blinkers cruze control airbags maybe others but i fixed blinkers with 99 blinker shaft its a Huge job but i did it and i drive my truck daily
