Pacestter Headers

If I was to put pacesster long tube headers and their off road y pipe on my 04 5.4 f150 would it through any codes if I turned the rear o2s off with my programmer? And would this make a big difference in power? And how hard are they to do?

I might be getting a whipple supercharger in the future so it would def help then.

No you wont have any codes if you can shut of the rear O2s, yes you will gain a good amount of torque, and in the 04+ it can be a real PITA to do, definitely a full day project and excellent tools are required, along with patience.

I though about adding long tube headers to. The Pacesetter are realy cheap on ebay.

What Do you think that about the 2006 5.4 3V with long tube headers?

Thants what I thought about doing on my 06.

Sorry if some people think I'm hi jacking.

I installed the headers and the Y-pipe 2 weeks ago, took me 2 days with just the front on jack-stands (I should have done a writeup, oy). It was challenging but I would say everything went smooth, no broken studs no striped threads . I got the simulators for my rear O2's and everything seems peachy. I LOVE the way they sound and they definitely improved the power.
I would suggest getting quality gaskets, I went with FOMOCO metal ones instead of the cheapo ones that come with the kit. Locking bolts is another thing to look at.

If any of you get the "black painted" ones...the paint on there is purely to protect the header in storage from rust and will burn off in a day, so dont even bother putting them on like this. You will have to strip and coat. I had mine blasted and ceramic coated.

Do you have any pictures? Did you go with locking bolts?

So you can hear and fill the diffrences? Very worth it? Sorry for all the questions, but was waiting for some one to install Pacesetter Long Tubes.

No pictures, but tomorrow I will go out and take some (been asked before). I did not go with the locking nuts, it was my own call (I have been told to use locking nuts). Hear it? ohhhh yeah... (I have no cats at all tho!) Feel it, very...seems very torquey off the hop (Some people say you lose bottom end torque, with the supercharger, it definitely feels way more torquey off the go). I don't mind answering Ill make a few videos tomorrow and take some underneath pics for all

Did you have to unbolt the motor and jack it up or can you get to everything just tight spacing? And what kind of mufflers are you running and is it too loud to deal with? I dont know if im gonna put cats or not because I wanna it to pass inspection. But right now I have it dual straight pipes 2.5" from cats back, but I have a 2.5" double outlet flowmaster 44 series muffler, but I should probly run 3" out if I do these. Would it be really loud with the 44 series and would it sound good?

I had to unbolt the passanger side motor mount and jack it up about an inch, was not difficult at all, starter taken out too. I had a magnaflow SI/DO system that I kept with the setup, so its 3" from headers into the magnaflow muffler and then 2 x 2.5" I think is the size out. Honestly I think having all the tools you need is more the battle then anything.

I don't have to do emissions here that is why I took the cats out but if you have to pass Im not sure its a good idea, I have never had to do any emission testing with anything.

I took some pics underneath but honestly you cannot see anything really, I will see if my friend will let me use his lift and ill get it up on lift and take some overall pics...
Here is how it sounds...the max I revved to was 3k so nowhere in the vid was it WOT, I like the way it rumbles.

Here is the vid, I edited half the crap out due to traffic etc, and this was taken on a digital camera so sound quality licks *****. Also I had to put the ugly stock wheels on my other tires were fried >:O

Burnout, 22's (wonder why I have no tires :/) , before supercharger, just had catback magnaflow. Finished putting in a new motor in my friends Chev, pulled an all nighter working on it so I thought we have some fun before going to sleep

I installed the ceramic coated ones a few months back on my 05', driver side was rather easy, manifold off and header on around three hours, (took my time just to be safe). Now the passenger side was a total pain for me, took like 4 times longer due to it not wanting to go in at the right angle, and after that I had no half wrenchs to get in the tight spaces that you will encounter on that side, plus the darn gasket wouldn't line up and had to fight that. Finally got it in and on my last bolt with me not paying attention, cross threaded and made me wanna go kick the dog. I do have pictures of them just laying on the floor in my album, but none installed due to the bad angles I would have to snap them from on my back...
