Dual exhaust is falling apart, need to replace

I have a 2005 Screw Fx4 with a 5.4L.

My Exhaust is an dual aftermarket, but I am not sure what.. it was on the truck when I bought it. I don’t think it is a very good system because the pipes look like crap underneath and the left tail pipe hanger broke and left a hole in the pipe. It also caused the pipe to separate a little from the muffler.

So I decided to just replace the cat back with all new.

There are a few systems on ebay that are under $200 with pipes and hangers. I also had a local muffler shop quote me 380.00 to put the factory system back on.

What would you do? I have two kids and we use the truck as a family vehicle. I would rather it be a little more quiet than it is now. And I really don’t care either way if I have duals out the back.

I would not even mind buying the factory cat back and doing the work myself.

Must be a Flowmaster system.

Those $200 and cheaper ebay kits are chrimp bent ( restricts flow a bit ) and very cheap steel and i can guarantee if you buy one of those you will be right where you are now a couple years down the road.

Search youtube for random exhaust brands & F150s and find out what sound is best for you ( in your case with kids and since you aren't describing a thrill for sound, an 18" body Magnaflow would do ), buy new tips online if you want new ones ( go stainless steel ), have an exhaust smooth bend/mandrel bent you new tailpipes, and for a hair under $350 you should be very happy with the outcome, warranty's on your exhaust and its parts, and longetivity of its lifespan.
