Cali exhaust...yea

So i own a 2000 f150 5.4 and I was looking into changing the exhaust up a little bit. I was looking at the BBK shorty headers...no long tubes due to California emissions laws. I also have the exhaust dumped lightning style out the passenger side under my bed step. Are the BBKs ok? Im not looking to spend 700 on a set of ceramics. Also cats...I want to replace the stock clogged up cats (105,000 miles). But Arnold Schwartz says I cant do that unless they are CARB approved. any suggestions?

Magnaflow makes a few cats that are CARB ok, look for CA at the end of the part #, #94316CA should be fine. BBK headers are fine.

dont waste your money on shortys. i have a buddy who has a blown dakota 5.9 RT with JM longtubes, high flow cats, and much more, and he passed smog. if u have a shop that will write you have on the visual, ull be set. spend the extra money on longtubes and get double the power

its just hard to find a smog shop that will skip the visual around here. All the "good" smog shops have been shut down. Im gonna do the shorties either way so I wont have to hassle with it im not looking for better quarter mile times. Just something better than cast iron exhaust manifolds. I was asking more about the quality of the headers.
