Will Magnaflow 94106 cats pass emissions in North Carolina?
I really am looking into getting these but want to know if I will pass NC emissions before I get them. I was curious if anybody had them in NC and had any problems?
I got the maggie high flow cats and will be getting inspected on Friday (if I get my sticker in by then), will post an update here on what happens.

Today I got the truck inspected, they were very curious as to what was running underneath, they have never (been going here for 10 years) never checked the exhaust except for a rear visual via jacking up the rear and checking for a muffler. Not sure if they were curious as to what and how it was laid out, flashlight and on their backs, they wouldn't say what they were checking. They told me they were passing me but I needed to move the exhaust tip from the front of the axle to the rear, due to some law, so now I have to go find this law and read up on it, if it came stock before the axle it was o.k., if not no good, but we did pass...
before i got my magnaflow cats i called magnaflow and asked a tech if they would pass new jersey emissions and he said they would. so if my truck fails its all on them lol. i have the 94306 cats. i think thats the number

When you guys put the Magnflows on, were you replacing the 4 stock cats with 2 Maggie's? Any Check Engine light problems? Any problems mounting the O2 sensors?
Today Magnaflows techs say it will not pass emissions, but I keep hearing about it working and saving a bundle of cash over the stock setup.

What year is your truck? My high flows go on this week and I already have a 2 cat stock system. If your looking to do this with your truck and you have the 4 cat system. I personally would suggest deleting the rear cats and throwing high flows on the fronts. But from what I've read. I believe everyone with the 4 cat system puts the high flows up front, leaving the rears stock. May want to to double check. And just a heads up if your truck is (I believe) the late year 05+ you should have the 2 cat system. As far as o2 sensors (again from what I've read) as long as they mount the o2 sensors behind the cats you should get a CEL. However the guy installing all my next exhaust told me to expect the CEL to come on in about 6 months to a year after they've had time to break in.
My High flows have been on since Dec. '09 and still no CEL. Doesn't meant it won't happen though.
For 4 cat systems, the rears are replaced with high flows not the front. Fronts are essentially high flows as is. That's if you want/need 4. If you can get through your inspection with only two, people differ on whether to just delete the rears and leave the 2 front stockers in place or replace all of them with just two high flows as you suggested.
My High flows have been on since Dec. '09 and still no CEL. Doesn't meant it won't happen though.

Holy thread from the dead....but I'll play along
I had 94106 cats and failed Colorado emissions badly on NOx (even after I cleaned and replaced the egr system). I only had them a year and they were toast, gave a p0420 & p0430 code right from the start. Could also be due to the fact I'm running LT headers too. I replaced them with IMCO XL cats and took out the Gotts O2 mod and they did not throw a CEL and I passed emissions easily.

I went to true duals. I removed the front cats and replaced the rears with the Magnaflows. I also added shorty headers and straight pipes I think its been about a month. No CEL so far Inspection isnt due until January. I dont think the local guy here will fail me for not having mufflers, but if he does Ill probably go with something very short and open. So far I love the straight pipes just dont know how long I can get away with it.
