Install Question

Anybody know if there is a standard regarding clearance b/w the body/panel of the truck and the tips? Yesterday, I was detailing..polishing my tips, and my entire catback tip folded down to the ground. The coupling that clamps around each pipe on the inlet side of the muffler was loose. I got it back but I'm not sure if I have it where it sat originally. Any advice?

Plus I noticed that if the support arm welded directly behind the tips is resting in an exact vertical position with the rubber boot (may have to show a picture of this, not sure how to explain) the two pipes aren't perfectly flush inside the coupling that needed tightening.

Let me know if anyone can provide guidance. I'll take pics if need be. I have a magnaflow catback...dual passenger side exit in front of the rear tire. Any help is always appreciated

If you can take some pics, it might be easier to see what you mean. I don't want to say the wrong thing. Post when you get a chance

Thanks for the reply John but I've got it covered now. I went in for an oil change and had the dealer look at it. The coupling that I was speaking of wasn't seating properly around the pipes, regardless of how tight. They fabricated me a new piece and installed it. I'm good to go now. Thanks again for the help though.

Glad to hear... just wanted to make sure. I don't like seeing people that don't get help
