Magnaflow vs Dynamax

Ok so after a few months of procrastinating Im finally gonna try and do my exhaust. only thing now is whether to go with dynomax or magnaflow muffler. both are pretty much same price, so figured i would turn to everybody here and see what yall think.

It depends on what your preference on sound is. If you want that mellow smooth sound that is louder on acceleration and quiet and calm while cruising, go with Magnaflow. If you want the aggressive mean sound, then Dynomax or Magnaflow Magnapacks would be your answer. Go on youtube and look up a wide variety of both products so you can make an educated decision on the case.

What exact mufflers from each company are you looking at? Because each of these companies offers a variety of different universal mufflers and they all sound different.

Depends on the sound you are looking for. I like the 14" Magnaflow, which will be slightly queiter than a flow 40 delta once broken in. However, that's just me. You need to be more specific in your wants/needs

LOL!! no kidding on the service! Thanks fellas! Im looking at the 14" bodies for both, and plan on dumping before the axle. The maggie i believe is #14221 and the dyno is #17228. I want something that sounds good while idling and cruising, but not insane cause i got my boy in the back seat. Im leaning more towards the dyno as long as it wont drone me to death in the cab. I know it'll be hard since im dumping it also.

I have a Dynomax dumped right now and drone isn't terrible but it's definitely there. I think you'd be better off getting duals out the back to be loud in town but keep it quieter when you want it to be quiet.

I would not dump it then, Put it 45'd out the sides or out the back. Dumping it would be way too loud for your kid. The 14" is nice sounding and you can hear it in the cab, but nothing major. If that is a concern, the 18" might be a better option.

I too would suggest not dumping it, run it out to back, keep it all single if you do not wish to have tailpipes, and you can have it tucked under the bumper enough without a tip.

The Magnaflow 18" body would be your best bet for Magnaflow

The Dynomax Ultra Flow would be the best bet for DYNOMAX.

Corrected my error, thats what happens when you side tracked

MOford21 you have any clips of ur exhaust? truckguy i like the way yours sounds just would like a little bit louder than that, thats why im kinda leanin more towards the dyno. I know videos do no justice to exhaust when it comes to hearing them in person.

I think I took one a long time ago but I can prolly get you one tomorrow if you want. It sounds deep and aggressive, but then again so does pretty much every v8 with an exhaust on the planet

i think the dynomax bullet would be way too loud for u. check my vids if u want in my sig. i would go for the magnapack (14" round body) and put it out the back.
