new to fords

new to fords

97 f150 5.4 i got a hole in the front cat on the drivers side can i cut just the one out and put a pice of pipe in or should i cut all of them out and are there really 4 cats on this truck

Yes there really are 4 cats on them, its a Ford thing. lol. If I were you I would replace all 4 with two high flow cats... Although, I just gutted both mine a few weeks ago. I got a video in my sig.

Remove your front two and leave the rears to keep cost for the project low.

If the rears are still inplace no, his rear O2s are mounted after the cats im pretty sure, and the rear cats contain more catalyst than the pre-cats do. Should be good to go if he can find someone to do the work.
