emissions?

so today in class we had the emission testing thing and just for laghs to see how bad my truck would fail *No cats, No EGR, No PCV* i brought my truck down after seeing a tarus with cats and all that fun stuff hook up. Tarus start up had about 450 H/C gram per min or w/e 3.58 %CO and 10% CO2 after 5 mins it went to about 100 H/C 0.03 % CO and 13% CO2 pretty clean right?

well i brought my truck down and shoved it in the exhuast started it at frist i had about 550 H/C 4.00% CO and 12% CO2 after 5 mins i had 113 H/C 0.42% CO and 16% CO2 my question is the only thing even a lil bit high but not by much is the CO is it really worth the money for cats??

looks like all a modren engine needs is front o2's to control air/fuel mix. i was so confuzed by this. my teacher told me thats just how clean they make the motors and if i had cats the CO would have been the same as the tarus. but i mean 0.42% CO..thats not even deadly is it? i know whe it was at 4.00% my teacher said oh were killing people as we drive down the street and killing puppys.

just confuzed and thought id show yall that im not leaving that big of a carbon footrpint as you might thing....or at least i thought itd be alot worse then that. i thought id have 5.00% CO the whole time and almost 600H/C the whole time oh well good to know im not killing the earth as much as i thought

me to i was totaly shocked the only thing i have emissions wise is the front o2's i cant belive just the front o2s alone cleaned up my exhuast that much. that much CO % wouldnt kill anything... i dont think.

would my truck pass caili emission test? i know it wouldnt pass the visual cat and muffler test but the emission part?

hmmm, I'm not sure... MigDaddy or someone else might know that being from CA. They are very strict so my guess is probably not, but I am just guessing.

haha no way would u pass cali emissions here. u cant touch your cats whats soever
hell you cant even touch the Y pipe comin off the cats. gotta do the emissions every 2 years here. u used to be able to find someone who could write it off for a special fee given to him if u knew u wouldnt pass, but now right when u get the truck plugged in all the info gets sent right over to the DMV. they are so strict about noise too. i wont be suprised if my bullet gets me pulled over. my buddy had a 66 GTO that was loud as **** and he got nailed a bunch of times for "disturbing the peace".

even if they are very strict those arent very high emissions. on a fully loaded 97 tarus with all the emission stuff the only big diff was the CO the tarus had .003% my truck had .042% CO.

i know that in caili you cant take the cats or anything like that off but would i pass the sniffer test? that detects the H/C the CO and the CO2??

Not sure. These modern day engines do run much cleaner than old school engines do, so cat-less might not be the worst thing for your truck, a '87 351 on the other hand... that would smell strongly of poison. My truck gives a very slight stinky exhaust/sulfur scent on a cold start, but goes completely away after warm.

It is illegal in all 50 states but some just don't check for it. They will once Oblamer gets to it though.

Patrick had me convinced on Bullet's for a little while but then I last chance decided on Super 44s ( Back when I had my Silverado ). Then when I was planning to put Super 44s on the F150, I quick changed my mind to the 11" bodies. I wonder how dual 12" Bullets would sound on my truck..

You need to go out to the country side where you can open the throttle wide and make some noise, and some fly-by passes

dual bullets would ur 2 cats delete would sound wicked! i can get some fly by passes if i can find my cord to my video camera. the sound is beautiful. i got the lady in the truck today for the first time since the new install and i warned her saying the truck is a bit louder. as soon i started it up she looked at me and shook her head and said "as soon as we have babies, this truck is on ebay". HAHA hilarious
