Hp mods

Hey i have an 03 f150, it has a 4.2 v-6 and an auto trans. Im looking for some simple yet effective horsepower gains. I know intake would first on the list, anyone know of any good setups they would recomemed. I tried after market exhaust(just a thrush cherry bomb) but it trased my fuel mileage so i put the regular muffler back on. Do i need a flowmaster of mangaflow or what? As i said im looking for simple and effective upgrades that anyone knows of. I have 3.55 gears(dont quote me on that) and 255/70/16 tires.

what's your axle code??? it's on your drivers door jamb

do the gotts mod for an intake (you may have to upgrade to a V-8 filter cover, it's a couple bucks at a wrecking yard) majority of people preach and harp on magnaflow as the absolute best muffler... but they also fail to mention that the borla xs pro makes better numbers on the same vehicle

since power isn't your main concern with a n/a 4.2 get on you tube and find a 4.2 equipped truck with an exhaust you like the sound of and go with one like it or just leave the stocker alone

e-fans and a custom tune will help you out a-lot
