which muffler

as some of you know i am doing long tube headers into hi flows into a 3inch y pipe, and am debating which muffler to go with maggie 12588 or borla 40349, not looking for crazy loud, actually looking for less noise as my truck is used mainly for towing, and with 2 little ones in the back the les rumble the better i know headers and cats will add sound but any suggestions will be great

either one of those will be loud with ur headers and high flows. your kids will be all pissy if its too loud i bet, so i would put on either an 18" or a 22" magnaflow. itll sound nice outside, but very little drone in the cab

well the magnaflow part number is the 22inch the borla is a 19 inch, the shop doing the work suggests possibly putting a twister resonator in front of the muffler as it doesn't loose much flow but quiets it down a bit more, any thoughts on this? or any one heard of this?

I'd give the ProXS a chance. Theres alot of Magnaflow going around, a change would be pretty interesting to see. The ProXS and 22" body are real calm mufflers. You might not need the resonator, but if it comes to it you could always go back and get it done.

They are straight through but have little plates in the surrounding tube inside to act as baffles, just like most glasspacks are.

personally if you want a mean sounding exhaust and still looks good go with a catback exhaust system with no mufflers sounds very nice.

that is a waste of money. all that is, is just new piping no mufflers. complete waste. and you must not have read the OP, he said he doesnt want loud because of the 2 kids in the back.
