Yellowiing exhaust tip

Ok so I have had this tip on my truck for about a month and now its a very ugly yellow shade. Could be it is just a cheap tip? Made by Vibrant? Supposedly stainless. I even ran the exhaust pipe in an extra few inches before welding to try to avoid any heat problems. I got it off ebay for $10 so I figured it was worth a try! Anyway my questions are is there anything to clean this off and if not what kind of tips are yall using and have they turned? I have noticed the trucks that came with the stock ford chrome tips seem to hold up well. I can't leave it like this it really annoys me! Suggestions?

Only best suggestion would be to spend the money for a quality tip, a real good stainless tip will cost you $40 each. They could be a thick clear coated chrome tip since clear coat yellows if not maintained ( especially rattle can ) and excessive exhaust heat will make cheap tips change color, usually is just a rain bow like look.

I'm running Magnaflow tips that look exactly like that one, they're 4"x18", rolled edge with a 15 degree slant, $55 each so $110 in tips, installed July 2008, and covered in salt all winter long. They still look fantastic. with no rust anywhere.

single walled tips will change color like that due to the thickness of the SS. get double walled tips and they will never fade that like.

Well hopefully I fixed the problem. I went with a Magnaflow tip. It has been on only a few days but is still looking good! Thanks everyone for the help!

Looks very nice Maybe you hit woodstock from Charlie Brown and that turned your tip yellow... just like when I hit a smurf last week...
