how much power gain from magnaflow cats

i have an 02 f150 and am planning on cutting out the 4 original cats and putting on 2 high flow mags. the part number on the cats is 94006. will i lose or gain any power? i have a di/do flowmaster super 40 muffler. i just want to make sure that my mileage will get better and that the power will not decrease. also how will the sound change. thanks

I'm no professional when it comes to exhausts but I wouldn't expect anymore than a couple of hp or so. The difference that you will notice is the sound of your exhaust. It will be louder for sure.

There will be a gain of a couple pounds of torque ( less than 5 at low end ) and your high end power will be better.

yeah they mainly will give you alot more noise, why i got them haha. but in all honesty, the chances of you actually FEELING a big difference in hp/torque is very slim. haha. most do it for the sound. it was a good upgrade i think, worth the money. made my super44 sound sweet

But a $1,000 - $10,000 fine getting caught without cats is not cheaper.

Doing this mod with your setup will more than likely just make it louder and introduce "crackling" and backfiring with an aggressive fuel pedal.

I wouldn't expect too much power wise, but throttle response should be a tad quicker. I had a similar setup on a 95 and liked the aggressiveness, but the crackling when the engine was cold was a bit annoying. I now prefer smoother deeper tones, But some guys still like that stock car sound.

Just make sure you like LOUD & cranky!
