Flowmaster to Dynomax

One of my buddies just put a dynomax ultra flow ss on his 2500 and it sounded really nice, so from impulse I just went home and ordered one. Right now I have a flowmaster 40 series muffler and Im going to be putting on a Dynomax SS Ultra with the straight through design to my duals, I was just looking to make my truck a bit louder but should I have just gone high flow cats instead? I guess what Im asking is am I going to notice a difference with just a muffler swap?

if u wanted loud u should have ordered a race bullet by dynomax. ur buddies 2500 will be louder than our f150s. dont know anything about the other dynomaxes. go high flow cats as well.

Here is a link to the site for dynomax
http://www.dynomax.com/products/ultrafloss.html
there is not really any restrictions at all like the flowmasters thats the only reason I impulsed bought without thinking.. Just figured less restrictions equals louder haha. But im just hoping someone will have a good answer for me so I dont feel like I just wasted $90 and should have put it towards high flow cats instead.

Return it because it wont be louder than your 40. What is this 2500 truck? A GM truck or Dodge? The GM 6.0L and Hemi are much louder engines than the Ford modulars so they make calm muffler sound louder.

You need hi-flow cats to sound louder.

Yeah those 6.0Ls roar. Ford modular V8s and their restrictive cats dont lol. I put Super 44s on my old 2500HD, jesus it woke the dead. A Super 44 on an all stock F150 I can still sleep to.
