a large piece of rubber coupling would probably work

check in the plumbing section of like home depot, lowes, walmart etc

let me know what you use and if it works I'll update the write up as I have for the other ideas

when you pull it out it's only pressed into a grommet, drill a small hole in the new part you use

it's' the same thing when us centrufigal guys relocate the IAT sensor to in front of the TB

well i tried this today...there's no doubt it can be done, but i couldn't find a 4.5" flexible coupler anywhere; all i have in town are ace hardware and tractor supply. by the time i realized what i needed, ace was closed and TS didn't have it. Guess i'll be looking tomorrow at ace.
But i did do the gotts intake while i was at it - and removed the silencer
...only difference i can tell is it's a little louder; i don't really feel any increase in power, but probably just as much as i would've with any name brand CAI i figure.

And a good high flowing filter would also help, slightly.

today i put the silencer back in...it was just a little annoying with it out; after putting it back in, i think throttle response improved. I think it directs the air to the throttle body better with it in there, rather than just letting all that air in the L-tube.

That's what I thought when I went out and took a look at the tube. The air doesn't look like it will flow very well in that big opening.
