what to do to make exhaust louder...

ok so i have a 2001 5.4 f150 and i had a 50 series flowmaster dual out but it was not loud enough at all. the only time i heard it was if i was floorin it. so i swapped it out and put on a 40 series delta flow muffler(2.5 in and dual 2.5 out) and it is still not loud enough. what to do to make it louder yet still sound clean?

do you have emmisions tests to deal with? if not then remove the rear cats. or remove all 4 and put in 2 high flows. or do a super 44 flowmaster.

you want loud? Long Tube Headers, 4 cat delete, 2 hi flows and either no mufflers or Super 44s or dynomax bullets or glasspacks or something.

Here's what I did... Installed Magnaflow muffler and then later on removed rear cats... here's the history of my exhaust

Stock setup

Magnaflow installed
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=72Asz...eature=channel

No rear cats, no muffler

Rear cats gone, Magnaflow muffler

I love the exhaust now. It sounds great especially during acceleration on the road. The no muffler video (with rear cats removed) was seriously annoying loud... it was too much. FYI... hope this helps.

I think it would be a lot easier and more legal to just remove the muffler period. If that isn't loud enough, ditch the tailpipes and install a turndown after the cat.

Remove the rear ones for the major sound increase, gut and re-install the front ones for a milder louder sound and still be legal visually.

i have your same truck and motor. i also went from a 50 series to a 40 series and they werent near loud enough to me either. noone will touch my converters here so i went with true dual flowmaster 10 series and an H pipe, its twice as loud and i love it even with 4 cats.
