Is this a fair price for this set up?

I am narrowing down my exhaust choices and talked to a local who would install a X-over with true duals through Flowmaster Super 40s for $450 installed. Is this a fair price? Also, is it a bit of overkill with the dual Super 40 setup and what size on the output side of the mufflers, 2.25" or 2.5"? I'm thinking 2.25" I won't be pulling the cats, they have to stay because of warranty issues. Opinion, cheers, jeers...please.

Sounds fair. Your not getting tips? With tips it could be more around $500. Definitely keep everything 2.25" for true duals. If I were you I would ask to get Super 44s instead of Super 40s, much louder, deeper, and better flowing muffler for a Flowmaster.

I thought about the Super 44s but the cats are going to be the limiting factor and yes, thats with tips

make sure the tips are stainless steel. and i agree with darren, the 44 is a much better muffler and even if you are keeping the cats, you will notice the difference.

$450 for Super 40s installed and with muffler tips is a fairly reasonable price. I would have to agree with them. The Super 44s is a better choice. You might want to reconsider.
