Pacesetters finally in, any tips on installing?

After close to two months of being backordered the Pacesetter LTs are finally here. I was looking to maybe get them in this weekend if weather is good. Anyone that has installed LTs on the later model trucks got any tips to make the install a bit easier? Thanks

I have more pictures of my setup in my album titled "my exhaust setup, just need some time to get it in" if anyone wants to take a look at what I got going on.

Congrats on your new addition. Well, Spray the manifold bolts with a lubricant ( thrush for example ) and let them soak overnight, start in the morning, put the truck on jack stands up front, pull the wheels and wheel well liners, a few band aids and plenty of cold beers and you'll have them in by the evening and if you have the rest of your exhaust ready, probably could have that in too.

a key thing i learned (plus what darren had) was take the starter off before you tackle the pass. side. it is tight as s@&*! there is no room at all so taking the starter off before you start opens alot of area to get them sliding in(from the bottom). drivers side isn't that bad. do you have cats and a y -pipe to go behind?

never took the starter out but take those wheel wells out and get a flexible socket connection! i broke the one i had laying around you may want to take the wheel wells out and everything then start your truck for a min then go break all your bolts loose they come right out i had 25k on my truck and didnt even spray half or them with anything.

I got the wheel wells out and have sprayed the nuts and bolts down a couple times over the past month, I tested one nut last night and it came off with little resistance so I hope thats a good indicator, but with my luck that will be the only one that easy. Will see how it goes this weekend. and thanks for the tips everybody.

Some people have said that they had to unbolt the motor mounts to get everything to line up properly. You might want to have a buddy around to help.

i unbolted the pass side motor mount but did that before i came to a problem(dont know if its a must but helped). jacked up the motor about an inch without the starter and slid them in and wasn't too bad.

Well, I finally got the headers in, that passenger side was a pain, darn thing didn't wanna go in, I just got back from the muffler shop, had the high flow cats, y-pipe and 1 borla XR-1 3in all the way from headers to muffler, tip was 3in to 3-1/2 out, exiting before passenger rear tire. I will post some sounds tomorrow, gotta say it sounds bada$$, I had a pair of super 40's dumped and there is no comparison. I am very satisfied with this setup and I think it was money well spent...

I just made a run to the local grocery store, put it in reverse in the driveway and noted a vibration on the passenger side, drove it a bit and it would vibrate and it felt and sounded like something was dragging or getting chewed up until a certain RPM, go away and then come back. Is this what some of you guys were talking about a week or so ago? I will have to check it out during daylight tomorrow. Kind of freaked me out...

sounds like the same thing. when you floor it everything is fine. less than that there sound like its air turbulance in the collector. the vibration is the tight fit on the pass side. depending on how worn the motor mounts are depends on how bad it vibrates. the headers are slightly tapping the frame. it all just makes me want to put my foot into it more. lol.

Congrats on the install. Longtubes, hi-flow cats, and an XR-1, you most certainly must get a video of that. First F150 to have that type of system with that muffler!
