Will F150 and F250 5.4L sound same???

I have an 08' F250 5.4L. Can I use F150 sound clips to estimate with general accuracy??? Although, I really find it hard to gauge sound from clips. I am thinking to go with an 18" magnaflow muffler and let the shop figure the rest out since the're are only two kits out for the F250. Would I lose any low-end power? Would there be a relatively easy option to swith back and forth during plow season? Or, would that not be practical?

F250s usually sound better with exhausts due to the better cat design and factory full 3" exhaust. Do the same to the F150 get hi-flow converters, 3" exhaust, it will run and sound much better, and about the same as the SDs.

My neighbor had a 2001 F-250 Lariat 5.4 with duals (sounded like a maggie si/do), recently sold it for a new Tundra. From my experience around the trucks, the F-250s and up tend to have a gargle noise. The exhaust has a pulsing sound that IMO sounds really nice. Think of your stock tone, and amplify it and make it deeper. When they rev it gets that nice pulsing sound but even louder. I wish my truck would sound like that when I get my duals done, but it wont

Here's an example on a v10, you'll see what I mean with the pulsing.

Hope that helps

To answer your other questions, get an all stainless system because it will not corrode. The maggie is stainless to begin with, and make sure the piping is and you would be set. Switching back is a pain, and frankly not worth the hassel or money. Now in terms of how you want it to exit which you did not specify, whichever way you chose, I would do either a si/so exiting in the stock location, or a si/do exiting at 45 degree angles behind the rear tires. This would prevent damage in case you backed into a snow bank like if you have it exiting straight out the back.

An exhaust shop can take care of that for you.
