exhaust diameter

whats the diameter of the 97 - 03 exhaust?

also, whats the diameter of the 89 - 98 exhaust on the chevrolet silverado?


im thinking the ford is 2 1/2 inches. im hoping the silverado is too. any ideas?

2.5" for the Fords, 2.75" for GMs

the silvy has a 40 series with a turndown on it, and i wanna know if i could use a clip to hold it until i can get a weld on the truck.

Sure you could. Alot of exhausts are clipped/clamped together. Depending how permanent your wanting it to be you might want to go with stainless steel clamps.

2.75" ofcoarse. If your working with say 2.75" pipe, you'll need a 2.75" clamp. That goes for every size. 2.5" needs 2.5, 3" needs 3".

no i'm sorry i should have specified.


im putting the 2.75 inch on my truck which has 2.5 inch piping. is there a way to connect the two without a weld and flaring the pipe?

Ok. You will need a 2.5" to 2.75" adapter. So to make that mate up, you'll need a 2.5" clamp, and 2.75" clamp. All parts are available at your local napa or advanced auto.
