Help me choose an X-Pipe...too many choices!

I decided i'm going to ditch my SI/DO Flowmaster 40 setup in favor of a custom true dual system. I definitely want to add an X-Pipe but I really don't know which one to choose. There's cheap ones on Ebay, but I don't know if it's one of those you get what you pay for deals....or...if an X-Pipe is just an X-Pipe. I'm new to this X-Pipe thing. Are they all the same or do you get better flow characteristics with the more expensive ones?

PLEASE help me choose one so I can move on with this exhaust system. I'm going crazy trying to decide lol.

Ok first up. Super cheap T-304 polished stainless X-pipe from Ebay. $40 with shipping. The welds don't look too great and it's a little wavy looking but IDK, I could be wrong.

Next up, another T-304 polished stainless unit from Ebay. This one looks pretty darn good as far as not being wavy/good looking welds. I like this one so far. $60 with shipping.

Moving on, this is a Flowmonster polished stainless X-Pipe. This one looks really smooth. $80 with shipping.

Last is the Magnaflow SS unit. Most expensive of all but has the Maggy reputation. $83.78 with shipping.

Exhaust gurus....which would you choose?

I think that last one is a Magnaflow X-pipe. From what I've learned so far, they're all the same.

You will be just fine with the Ebay ones, the other ones are namebrand heavy but the unknown brands are the exact same thing. As long as it is t-304 or t-409 stainless you'll be alright.

im probably going to get one of those flowmonsters as i currently have no crossover pipe in my duals. the ones that are $25 just look too cheaply made. ill just spend the extra $40, unless anybody here has had good experience with the cheapos.

Thanks for the input!

I ended up going with the 2nd X-Pipe I posted...$60 shipped. Looks decent quality for the price.

Just ordered a pair of FlowSound 1 chamber mufflers for the true duals as well. Adding all this to the Walker/Dynomax hi flow cats and JBA headers I already have should make this system sound SICK! I'll try to get a sound clip when it's all done.

Here's a sound clip of my current setup if anyone's bored...watch in high quality:

Good plan. Nice to see someone use different parts on here. I believe I seen that video along time ago, sounds excellent.

I got all my stuff I need for the true dual conversion. Thought i'd share some pics of the goodies before they get installed. If all goes to plan I should be getting everything installed on friday. Got a question...if I turn these mufflers sideways for the true duals, will I have a problem with them holding water? Should I drill small weep holes or will it be ok like that?

FlowSound 2.5" center/center single chamber mufflers ($40 each)

Completely hollow except for a single "V" plate welded in the center

T-304 2.5" polished stainless X, ($60 Ebay special)

Nice layout. No the heat of the exhaust dries any condensation and the forceful blow would blow it right out.

Cool. I was worried about them collecting water but a couple quick WOT blasts seems like it would suffice. Can't wait to get this stuff installed!

You might want to check w/ your local muffler shop before ordering one. My local shop provided the x-pipe and did all of the work for $60.00. I don't know the brand but it does fine.

I'll try to get some sound clips up once it's all done. I went with the FlowSounds mainly because of the price. They are still good quality however, there were much cheaper single chamber mufflers on Ebay but I opted to pay a little extra. Basically a Flowmaster 10 series knockoff, but without the $90 price tag Also figuring that I have a 40 series 2 chamber muffler right now, and wanted to go a little louder, the 1 chambers were a natural choice. This guy's setup convinced me even further once I heard it, he's using the same FlowSound mufflers: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nezTBIV8bOA

I did, i'm having it done at my buddy's shop. His suppliers usually charge top dollar for parts, so he told me to just order them myself and I would just pay the install fee. 60 is dirt cheap for parts and labor, there's nobody around here that comes even close to that cheap!

Finally got everything installed! It sounds badass in person

Definitely a healthier-sounding exhaust note at idle and all around compared to the SI/DO Flowmaster 40 series setup. Also more drone cruising in the 1500-1800 RPM range, but I can handle it. I noticed that the driver's side pipe sounds a bit louder for some reason, but I think that's normal for that bank to be louder?

Here's some pics of everything installed:

And here's the sound clip I promised (watch in high quality). My blower belt actually started to come apart on the way home from the shop, I had to pull over and cut if off on the side of the road. So the truck is running N/A for now Should make the exhaust a little easier to hear, but it does sound a little different compared to when the blower is hooked up.
