heard something bad about highflow cats

i was lookin forward to gettin some highflows put on my 97 5.4 but a local muffeler shop had said that they would damage the truck in the long run. currently i have shorty headers with true duals. i have a small leak in the passenger side front cat and its driving me crazy! i just need to know if there is any chance of damage to anything and if i should get oem cats or feed my addiction and go with the highflows. thank you for any advice!

all the cats do is provide the little backpressure you need for the engine and reduce emmisions. it wont really hurt the engine. now if you had no cats and it read rich then it could hurt the engine because it may try to lean out the A/F mixture too much.

Before high flows with stock cats = CEL
After high flows = No CEL

Kinda speaks for itself...

ive noticed that the shops around here that are too lazy to install cats talk bad about high flows all day long

and the ones who actually do good work and do what you want them too say all the good things about them..
