feeling pacesetter long tubes, will they hold up?
i had the long tubes for 1 week without cats and a sido cherry bomb extreme muffler and it was LOUD. now i added two high flow cats with the LT"S and that same muffler, sounds great. i thought about a maggie behind the high flows but like the sound overall i have currently so im staying with the c bomb.
i havnt run cats even with shortys will throw code without the Gotts o2 delete or a MIL sim o2. i havnt had cats for almost 3 years. i had longtubes cut-outs then dynomax bullets dumped under my feet for a year n a half i now have longtubes into a 2.5 adapter into dynomax ultra flows....they are pretty loud but not as loud as bullets. bullets are only 3-6Db quiter than stright pipe! lol i got some vids in the sig of my truck with bullets and open headers n what not lol
give dynomax a shot they gurentee ull like the sound or you can send them back in 90 days n my ultra flows has a lifetime warenty on them!!! also they flow alot better than flowmaster will ultra flows flow 1300+CFM flowmaster only flow 500ish... ive always loved the sound of flows and i think super 40's or a super 44 would sound sweet with longtubes! but i love my dynomax stuff always have.
PS check out there muffler with an X-pipe in it!! i wanted to give it a shot but i like true duals

with long tubes and no cats am i possibly loosing bottom end torque? will cherry bomb glass packs (straight through) be enough back pressure or run like a real muffler like a flowmaster 44 or something?
nope ull gain 15-30 hp and 20-35 ftlbs. if you run true duals use 2.5" or 2 1/4" pipe. if you run a single u can run a 3" pipe.
its not about back pressure if it was about back pressure stock set up would have the most power. its abou exhuast gas velocity. the faster you can get rid of the exhuast gases the better.
thats why i lost my bottom end when i had true dual 3" the exhuast would flutter in the pipe instead of hauling ***. you want the exhuast gas out ASAP and unless ur making 600 hp + you cant have 3" true duals. 300-600 you can use 2.5:" and under 300 use 2 1/4" true duals.

sweet, im already running 2.5 duals so its just a matter of connecting them up to the 3 inch collectors. and im leaning to the Gotts o2 delete for the back 2 sensors. anyone running flo pro vforce mufflers? the shop in town has them and they are easy on the wallet.
and damn shifty your running more setups than most of us. still cant wait till your done with the current!
Pacesetter and Dynatech are both 1 3/4 tubes and where pacesetter is 3" collector dynatech is 2.5". Personally I'm going to get the american racing header complete kit. If you read their site it is a header to tip system for 1400 bucks with cats.
"2WD F150 owners now have the opportunity to increase horsepower and torque by a substantial margin by installing American Racing Headers' new high quality header systems. The entire system is manufactured using 304 S/S and comes complete with long tube headers, high flow catted or off-road center section, dual in and out Magnaflow Muffler (with internal X-pipe) and side exit dual tips that locate in front of the passenger side rear wheel. These systems were designed to provide outstanding power, sound, appearance, and longevity"
I plan to run no cats but overall they are my pick. Plus you can have them make the tubes in 1 3/4" instead of 1 5/8"

sorry for the long wait i got called back to work....but anyways the headers will be going on next week i hope! Before it gets done will my front 2 sensors be long enough to screw into my pacesetter lt's?
and can anyone agree with shifty about back pressure? if its all good then it will look like this 3 inch collectors to 2.5 true duals into glasspacks then out 3.5 tips.
i bought the supplies to try gotts o2 mod so hopefully it will work great.
can wait to hear what shes going to sound like.

front 02's will be long enough to fit in the pacesetter location.
i like shifty's setup but cant agree. too much and you'll lose torque. if doing true duals for performance i would go 2 1/4 for n/a or 2 1/2 or more for forced. your probably not making enough to utilize true duals.
but it does sound awesome!!!
