Service Dept/Warranty
Have any of you experienced problems with warranties or the service dept. for just having intake and exhaust? Just wondering since I have both and the muffler is kinda welded in so just thought I would ask so I can be ready to pull that stuff off if I have a problem with the truck.
Mufflers will not affect warranty. If the cats are modified or your running true duals the exhaust warranty is voided. And intake will only void your OEM intake warranty and possibly MAF related parts.
I had mine in with true duals also, no problems.
Thanks guys, my gf had a sh*t fit about it! I was like hey i make the payment and its under my name WTF! So that thought she put in my head about oh your warranty is voided your dumb was lurking at the back of my mind.
They must like you then. Everywhere else denies exhaust warranty with real duals since these engines do not have the performance to back up true duals, causing a minor lean condition in most applications.

They drive the cars like hell behind the fence! I heard my truck, they drove it harder than I do!
lol yeah I dont like it when my truck is in their hands out of my site. I'm happy no one had mentioned my rear converter delete job when they were changing out my fuel filter, cause the fuel filter is right there on the frame about a foot away from where the left cats go. I remember hearing my truck start up numberous times when it was on the alignment rack, and heard the guy pull it out after my struts. Thing can be heard pretty good.
Correct me if I am wrong, but The Magnuson Moss Warranty Act requires an auto manufacturer to live up to their warranty regardless of modifications unless they can prove that your modification caused the defect in question. It's been a while since I read the entire document but I know that you can take legal action to make them pay for something that you are sure was not caused by your modification. In most circumstances it doesn't make since to take legal action however, since the cost of the repair will be far less.
