jlt intake, is it worth it....
ok so i know there has been threads in the past and i've read them but i have questions that have not been answered. for starters, most said it was bad in traffic or idling--- but who makes power idling or traffic? once you hit 15 or 20 mph the airflow from the grill or under the truck will be cooler as speed increases which is where cai makes power anyway. i have used datalogging to only have an increase of 5 degress at idle. at top end i have heard there is much power to be made with a tune but the hype is the hot air kills performance throughout the powerband. i dont buy it.
i am wanting to buy but a small part of me wants to hear more of what f150 owners have to say since i've learned so much already. any help will be nice.
i am considering the purchase but i am hoping if there is a bad effect someone will honestly tell me the problem please.

and to eat my own words, i checked it today (IAT) and it differed about 9 degrees.
I installed the jlt air intake. very good and big, is from s&b. defenately you will need a tuner with this intake or your truck will run LEAN, you will only hurt that engine. The drone is one of the most quiet ones out there, and the big filter will allow you to delay the cleaning of the filter. It defenatlely gave my truck a power increase with the tuner. I iinstalled the jlt filter and tuner at the same time. Hopefully this year I will get a hood scoop to complete this cai. Good luck.

05 crewzer you are right, however I will never know how would it be if I don't try it. The good thing about it is that it will be ambient air and not hot engine air. The only thing that worries me is when is raining or snowing, but for that I guess I can live with putting a cover on the inlet of the hood and just breath hot engine air.
agreed. i think it would be hella good for the intake but there would be times we'ld have to cover it up. small price to pay for that fun. good thing in texas it doesn't snow and barely rains.
I have an Edge and an AEM brute force is going on next week. What are the best settings to avoid my truck from running lean. I know a custom tune would be best but I have to make the best of what I have.
from what i have learned, tune it for performance and your get the power you want. technically tuning it within any level will solve all problems with the intake you have. it will run it the way ford should have made it.
