Dumped exhaust recommendations

Well the mod bug has bit me. I emailed Josh at VMP in regards to a couple of tunes (1 D/D, 1 Tow). Ill also be ordering an S&B intake and lastly i think ill try to get a dumped exhaust system.

Ive seen people rock many different kinds of mufflers here and on other boards. I am just looking for the most cost effective and mainly performance enhancing option. There are just way to many choices out there for me to decisively choose one. The only thing i know for sure is that i want a turn-down. Any recommendations?

The requirements are:

- something cheap (not quality)
- something that can be installed relatively easily
- i am not looking to replace the cats, so most likely it will be a Si/So after the Y (unless you guys know something that could work)
- something that sounds decent

Lemme have it.

Use a Magnaflow muffler. Depending how loud you'll want it, you can go with an 11" body, 14" body, or 18" body. Shorter obviously being louder.

I have a single in, double out magnaflow 14" that is dumped. I dont know about any perfomance gains or whatever, but I do like the sound. It is nice and quiet till you feed the 5.4 all the gas it can guzzle....

So maybe a magnaflow 11216 or 12216? Both are 14" oval with single center inlet and outlet. That way it'll be easy for me to find a 2.5" turndown to go directly onto the muffler.

Go for the 11216. The only differences between those mufflers is 11216 = 4x9 body, 12216 = 5x8 body. The 4x9 has a better volume to it where the 5x8 is lower & deeper toned.
