Do I need a tuner with a CAI and cat back exhaust?

My truck is an 03 Screw 4x4 with the 5.4V8. I have the model specific K&N CAI ordered and in route. I have plans to have a simple exhaust done this week. Nothing fancy, just adding a catback (magnaflow muffler) dual setup mainly for the looks and sound. I am not expecting any measureable performance gains. Do I run the risk of running lean with the addition of the CAI and exhaust? I have been reading all the stuff here and have tried to search but I must not be using the right words or phrases so I just decided to post a straight forward question. Feel free to answer my question directly or point me to the right way to search. Thanks in advance.

You have the 2003 2V so there is little risk of running lean. However, you will not get a lot of benefit from the CAI without a tune.

Thanks for the reply. No real need to push the performance meter on this truck. I just bought it to use as a daily driver and for hunting/fishing trips to keep the miles off my good rig. I may do a tuner at some point just for the heck of it as they do seem interesting to me. I'm definately a gadget guy. In the meantime, I just wanted to be safe so I thought I would ask. Thanks again for taking the time to respond, I appreciate it.

If you enjoy gadgets, get a Gryphon. It offers so much more than just power. Much improved shifting, the tranny will last longer, and the gauges for monitoring all kinds of temps, etc.
