Dumped ?

im getting tired of looking at my tips. they are pretty much 2 toned right now , and i just dont like the way they look anymore. i think it would look much cleaner if they were removed.

i am not too familiar with exhaust , but what i do know is : i have magnaflow si/do . the tips exit out the sides behind the tire.

my question, can i cut off the piping at some point beyond the muffler , would i need turn downs to exit the exhaust away from the undercarriage or does it not matter ?

ya, that way your not blowing exhaust over your axle/bed.

you could just do it yourself. jegs has turndowns for like $15 a piece, and they come with clamps and will just slide over your pipes.

i think the piping is 2.5 " does that sound right ?

and also where is a good place to put the turn downs , before the rear axle ?

under turndown pairs ,
i would need either the 1 st one 2.5 id or the 2nd one 3.0 id right ?

if you dump it before the rear axle you are much more likely to have more noise inside the cab. but if your muffler isnt that loud then dont worry. if it is tho, then you might want to save your ears and dump it after the axle

if your pipes are 2.5 then get the 2.5 pair.

Just get them to cut off like right when it goes over the axle. Or, you should have bought stainless steel tips.

Just have them cut the pipe right when it turns over the axle, virtually it's own turndown.

A turn down is to give it some sound by directing the sound to the ground and it reflects back causing a deeper tone .

IDNC i have some turndowns from my second exhaust system. They have hangers and everything on them and are 2.5" piping. Check my gallery 'stuff for sale'. I had completely forgot about them until i saw this thread..
