basically a perforrated x-pipe wrapped with batting and in a casing. i used it on my truck and it sounds excellent. i pulled my y-pipe out and ran duals down into the x and duals out lightning style. I actually went to the bigger casing because the smaller one was too loud with the windows open, and there was a wicked drone at highway speeds.

As already explained, its a cross over piece to balance true duals. It cross flows the exhausts to 1 point to create an excellent scavenging affect to help keep low end torque.

Magnaflow X pipe= Amazing and never run true duals without some form of crossover, trust me.
