not happy with magnaflow. Some help

Ok so ive got an 01 5.4 with a magnaflow muffler one in two out and its way to quiet i cannt even hear it running. So what should i do to get it louder?? I dont happy tons of cash at this point but im willing to spend some. ive thought about maybe doing away with the rear cats and the mag muffler and replaceing them with maybe dual glass packs out the back. Any help would be nice. Also if i was to do away with the rear cats how hard is it and wats the process. Thanks alot guys

Flowmaster Super 44, or remove the rear 2 cats that'd make it louder. You could do glasspacks, it would be about as loud as no mufflers. How loud do you want it?

What body is it? Anything bigger than an 18" body wont really be heard.

If he removed those rear 2 cats, and ran the 11" maggies it'd sound good, and can def be heard.

Personally? I'd go True duals, X pipe and 2 single in single out super 44s. But that's just me. Depends what you want to spend and what you want out of your exhaust man. Big truck=Loud, IMO

A good option, but he said he doesn't have tons of cash, so I would just go with the SI/DO as opposed to true duals.

Agree on the too expensive with True duals. If you have exisiting tailpipes, you could just change out muffler(50 in labor+whatever for new muffler)

Yeah, but remember not everyone wants to modify their cats or remove some due to the fines that could appear if its not legal in a persons area.

Well if you are going to remove your rear cats make sure you can still get inspected. Since your front cats are the main cats that resonate sound I'm not positive you wont get an engine light but if you have a custom tune the O2 monitoring system may already be disabled making things easier.

Here is my experience with removing my rear cats in full detail.

Also I would not do true duals. Granted you are thinking of removing your rear converters, true duals with all 4 stock cats would be pretty quiet. Single exhaust with dual tailpipes is louder than true duals with stock cats. A Single exhaust would perform better than true duals too unless your pushing 350 horsepower.

I have the maggie on my L, remove the rear cats and that should get it louder, and have them turned off in your tune and then no CEL.

True duals sound sweet no doubt, that is with some cats removed or hi-flow cats installed.

SI/DO still sounds good. Same volume, just a single muffler tone. 4wdF150 has hi-flow cats with a SI/DO Super 44.
