exhaust options
Hey everyone. I have a 2008 5.4 L F150 that I'm looking to mod a little. I think I want to get a Gryphon tuner, S&B CAI, but as far as the exhaust I'm not sure and I'm looking for help. I'm looking to spend around $1000 for the three mods not including installation.
As far as what I want out of the exhaust system, I want a nice, louder (not ridiculous though) sound and a little better mileage and power too. My priority is in that order: sound, mpg, power. I figure the tuner and CAI will already help with power and mileage. I live in California so going without a muffler or cats is (I think) out of the question due to smog regulations. I would like to have dual outs, but don't want to lose torque. I would like something that is fairly easy to install if I want to do it myself. Any suggestions about what setup I should get? What do you guys think about MBRP exhausts? I heard the sound clips and thought the sound was ok. I like the Flowmaster and MF sound a little better, but to me it wouldn't be worth spending a lot more money. Any help would be appreciated.

Tuner=500, Intake=350. That leaves you around 250 for exhaust, that's not going to be easy to do. Magnaflow or flowmaster muffler and pipes, and dump it with no tips. That's the best I can come up with right now.
The S&B kit should be a hair under $300 shipped, tune about $450 shipped and ordered, and a Magnaflow muffler installed inplace of your stock with dual tailpipes maybe
a hair over $200 installed, since their cat-backs are $570.

450 depends on what tuner, xcal 3 from VMPtuning is 499. I've seen S&B for around 330+S&H 200 for Magnaflow with tips? I paid 350 for my flowmaster, 2.25" pipes and 3.5x18" SS tips.
Well last I seen Xcal3s from VMP were $399 and the 3 tunes made it $415 excluding shipping. S&B kits sell for $246 excl. ship, and buying a Magnaflow 14" SI/DO ( $84 ) and having it installed for $100 would be fair, but as for tips he'd be able to get cheap junk ones, or save for real quality stainless ones.

Oh, you're right. I swear it was 499 like a month ago man.
