GOTTS mod question please help!!!!!

I'm fustraited. I just wasted about 1.5hrs of my life at both Lowe's and Home Depot looking for the 3" ABS plastic pipe or whatever and can't find it anywhere. For you who have done this and purchased the materials at either one of the two listed above, can you please tell me exactly where you found it??

thanks,,,

You are looking for 3" PVC pipe in the plumbing section. If I were you, I'd go dumpster diving to find a scrap piece of this pipe. I doubt you will be able to get a piece at Lowe's less than 4' long. You only need a piece about 10" long max.

white or black don't matter, if you read the article they put on f150.net, it shows the 2 ft piece that gets cut down and pics of trucks using both black and white pipe and there is no performance or appearance difference

Some areas of the country dont have the black abs pipe due to building codes. That is what I found in my neck of the woods. I had to use white, I lightly sanded it and painted it black, now it blends right in.

it ran better than it did with the K&N intake (and at that time the truck was full bolt on and had upgraded injectors)

jackandjanet worked out a mod for the 3 valve 5.4's but as we have described the "gotts" mod for the 2 valve engines it will not work the same way for your 3 valve, talk to jackandjanet and see how he modified his 3 valve intake tract

Okay got it, thanks guys. I hate the idea of using white PVC pipe. I think it'll just look wrong. Any pics so I can get an idea? You all know if it can be painted black or who might carry black PVC?
