Finally Did Gotts Intake Mod!!!!

Got the silencer removed and did the Gotts Intake Mod. The hardest part wasn't so hard, just time consuming and that was getting the pipe to fit into the fender. It took a little while. I love it though! It sounds better and DEFINITELY feels stronger on the top end. All that extra air really helps it breathe at high RPM. Next mod will be SIDO Magnaflow Exhaust and then probably a Gryphon.

I went out and actually looked at what needed to be done for this mod, and I'm definitely going to home depot tomorrow to get all the parts needed. What did you use to shape the pipe to fit the hole?

As far as parts go, i got both parts at Lowe's. I got a 2 foot piece of black 3" PVC pipe and a 3" to 3" rubber coupler with clamps. Total it was $13-14ish. I used a die grinder with a red buffer pad on it. You could probably used something a lot rougher and get it done faster, but I did it slower, little by little to make extra sure I didn't take too much off.

Hey fitz, any particular reason you decided to get rid of the Gotts and go with an S&B?

Well at the time the truck was stock then I got a tuner so I thought I needed a real cai not knowing php has dynoed this setup and it makes 8hp.The S+B makes 10hp on 87 tune but I wouldnt have bought the intake had a known not worth 2hp.Then the exhaust came and the combo works very good and I like the S+B but if I did it over again I would have saved my money and just used the gotts.

So the Gotts intake makes 8 HP stock with no tune? I just finished doing it myself and I need to find a cheap K&N filter.

For this mod, you don't need a tune. I will definitely be getting one though after I get my exhaust. I would love to see where PHP dynoed the different intakes.
