loudest exhaust system?

i currently have dual 2 chamber flowmasters on my truck, with stock cats and no headers. it sounds "good", but i want it to be much louder. Does anyone have an opinion on what would be the loudest overall exhaust system for a 5.4, i.e flowmasters or magnaflow vs. glasspacks??

Loudest = no exhaust.

Longtube headers dumped.

Legally the loudest would probably be true dual 10 series with hi-flow cats, and longtubes.

some high flow cats will make the truck quite a bit louder. And dumping the exhaust under the truck will make it louder if it ran out the back right now

You should realize that your truck will have a very different sound if you run straight duals to get it really loud. It will not have the same tone as your Flowmaster. I have been running true duals with Cherry Bomb glasspacks and i am looking to quiet my truck down. It is very annoying on the highway. I have also recently moved into an apartment complex in town and have had several complaints about the volume of my truck to the leasing office. (I usually leave around 5 in the morning and wake up everyone here) Does that sound like something you may be interested in?

I had a 2 chamber flowmaster and wasn't happy with it either. But having to keep a muffler on my truck (to be legal). My muffler shop suggested a 1 chamber IMCO, single in dual out. Then, I opted for magnaflow echo chambers. I have been really happy with it. Its loud when I first crank my truck in the mornings, then mellows out after the truck warms up some. I think it sounds really good. Good luck on your search.

I just put true duals with glasspacks (holley red hots) on my 5.4 and it rumbles and roars pretty good, turns a lot of heads. I'm most likely gonna put headers and hi flow cats on as well that will be plenty loud.

I believe the true duals with cherry bombs is what i'm going to end up doing, i'm 18 so naturallyt im going through that stage where i just want my truck to be all out BTTW. my cousin has a little ranger and has one cherry bomb with gutted cats and you can hear him coming from a mile away, it just sounds like a rice burner. From what i understand, putting dual cherry bombs on a 5.4 will give it the "machine gun" sound, especially high end, but low end u get the typical beefy growl, dhugo2, do you have stock cats as well of high flow??

hey man im 18 as well and have the 5.4 too. were in the same boat when it comes to loudness. listen im tellin u if u get true dual flowmaster 1 chamber (6.25 inches long) aka delta force race mufflers, and an H pipe u will absolutely be in love with it. its what i did and will always do from now on. i promise u wont regret it and thats comin from somebody your age when u hit it at any speed from stop to already goin, it sounds like an explosion comin out of ur truck. thats how i like to describe it

Haha I was running my 5.4 with the muffler disconnected for a while, and every morning at 5:30, without fail, I set off the alarms of a red tundra, a blue civic, and a gray van. Needless to say, these people got tired of shutting their alarms off every morning and I was told to fix it or get out. So I put on magnaflows. They're nowhere near as loud, but I decided I like the toned down exhaust on a newer truck. Now on my '90, I want that sucker to sound like an old hotrod so I left it loud, but I do think quieter exhaust is classier on late model trucks.

My old setup was a 10 series flow dumped, it sounded pretty good but wasn't loud enough for me and I wasn't sold on the tone. So I went with true duals straights with an x-pipe and I love it. It is as loud as you can make it without doing headers or touching the cats, I regularly set off car alarms just driving normally. If you want to hear it there are clips in my sig.

that machine gun sound will only really happen when you have it to the floor. It has a deep rumble to it when driving normally. I think that my cherry bombs take away the wet fart sound of straight pipes. I like the cherry bombs but want to go a little quieter.
