Did the "GOTTS" intake modification that was discussed a while ago. It was pretty easy and only took about a 45 mins. Except trying to get the pvc pipe to fit into the opening in the fenderwell. I do have to say, I notice a difference in throttle response. I havent had a chance to check my mileage seeing how I just did it, but I will now. I dont know how much extra air is gained by aftermarket CAI's but just by going from about 1 7/8" up to a true 3" its noticeable.

I will be doing this mod also and adding the K&N filter. I also want to try and cut off the air silencers and plug the two holes with caps. I believe this was demonstrated in the other post. I did this on my Mach 1, to me, the exhaust sounded louder and rougher after removing just the silencer.

 

What is the silencer, or are you talking about the snorkel?

 

Hes talking about the warts growing off the stock intake tube some people have cut them off and taped the holes.

Oh you have the 4.6 I dont know what yours looks like.Take a look at the 5.4 intake.

 

You mean those giant space wasting sections of the 5.4 intake? I always wondered what those did.
